Taking up Space

For this series, I challenged myself to self-portraiture in the context of my home.  I struggle with assuming the space I take up both figuratively and literally. Often we are told to "take up space" as a form of self-care. But I wanted to extend this idea as a performative gesture to myself and photographic practice through self-portraiture with domestic, everyday objects.

This series happened to overlap the COVID-19 quarantine period we find ourselves in. It may read differently now but I presume we are all growing and learning to be at home as a space, a body, and a self.
